Double J, Jeff & Aaron did the NB tri as well this past weekend

From Ron Jeremy's long lost son:

I got a TRI report for yous..

Well unlike the N.B. Tri, I was put in the correct heat this time. It really does make a difference when you are neck and neck with others. The swim was not too fast and I was 4th out of the pool. Caught the first two guys fairly quickly and picked off the lead guy about 3 or so miles in. THEN the dude, who ended up winning, passes me. Soo I'm like going to kill myself to stay with this dude and do so untill the final climb when I realize I'm goin to pop on the run for sure! Oh well, screw it I'll try to hold off as many people as possible. 2nd going into the run and was passed by 2 more guys for a 4th overall. Eh, I've felt better, but really can't complain too much.
A side note; Ray Russel who seems to beat me at every single one of the tri's we've been in together, Finnished 2 sec behind me. And for the life of me could not figure out why he didn't pass me. He is just a little bit faster than me, but when I held him off in the sprint at the VERY end of the race, he finally tells me he had to go to his CAR for his bike helmet!!! Ha oh well, I'll take it anyway I can get it

Hilly Billy Roubaix, aka JR should be tried for attempted murder

I will break it out in feed station segments: 0-19 miles was shock and awe (gravel the size of golf balls, puddles the size of small pool, and steep climbs you had to muscle through no standing and pedal), 20-39 miles painfully evident that this race was meant to be torture; 40-59 miles I really don't even remember riding those miles; 60-72 miles was just salt in the wounds.
One thing I will say is that all of the slogans made up for this race were spot on!

Tour de Grandview via Chad

Recognize:

It was a cat 4 race 1.08 miles/lap and 17 laps. I tried counting before the race and think there were around 47 racers. It was a super hard race, hot, and I ran out of fluids. I was with the group through the last lap and at that time there were only about 15 of us left I think. I tried to make a move around a bend and my back tire blew out. I hit in to a curb and flip on the sidewalk. I got scraped up on my back, hip, and had to get stitches in my elbow, and my bike got jacked up. Was bummed out cause they paid out top 10 and I drove 3 hours to get hurt.

Tough guy of the week award.

Double J's weekend race report

Double J writes:
Hey dudes, here is my weekend race report while its still fresh:
first off let me say that last week i worked more O.T. than X-mas week! Totally sucked ass.....
Sat: Me and Aaron competed in the N.B. TRI. the weather was perfect and about 60 people showed up. they put me in the 2nd heat which was a mistake, i think. i got out the pool 1st and proceeded to pass everybody but 1 guy in the first heat on the bike. I could see him in front of me the whole time on the run and he became my "rabbit" he was a pretty strong runner and didn't catch him until the last hill before the Finnish. then just turned on the gas and he had nothing, i turned around after the finish line and he was waay back. ended up 2nd in age group and 10th overall. 10th by 1 second, i might add.. real good day..
Sun: Me,Joe and Ed in the Cat 4/5 Oakmont. It was a fairly typical 4/5 race. little squirmy ( NOT ME this time) and pretty damn hot. i went for a 10$ and pizza PREEEEM and got passed on the last turn to the finishing straight. whatever. we hung in there till the end, and i got jammed up in the 2nd to last turn when there was carnage everywhere. ya know that god awful sound of bikes crashing and cuss words. just missed it, had to BRAKE really hard and actually locked up the rear for a sec or two, didn't come unclipped but effectively ended my race. BUT i did finish this year as opposed to last year when, inexplicably my crank arm fell off!!! ha
thats it, and planning to race Millcreek next week too... PEACE and enjoy the free day off... J
